15 DAYS/ 14 NIGHTS ARMENIA & GEORGIA

 

 Day 1 Yerevan-Arrival day
  •   Upon your arrival in Yerevan, you will meet with our representative at the airport and be transferred to your hotel. 
•   Overnight in Yerevan

 

 Day 2 Yerevan- Ejmiatsin-Yerevan city tour-History museum
  /breakfast & lunch included/
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel
 
  •   Pilgrimage to Ejmiatsin Cathedral which is the first official Christian church in the world, built in 301. Ejmiatsin, called New City (Vagharshapat in the past), 20 km from Yerevan, is the city where the Mother Cathedral - the throne of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians - is located. It was founded in the beginning of the 4th century A.D. According to the Revelation of Gregory the Illuminator, Jesus Christ descended from the heavens and pointed to the site on which the Cathedral was to be built. That is why it was named “Ejmiatsin” which means “The Only Begotten Descended”. 
•   Afterwards we will go to see the panoramic view of Yerevan. Along the way we will see the Sports and Concert complex, Kievyan Bridge, Baghramyan Avenue, the Presidential Palace, the Academy of Sciences, the National Parliament, the Writers Union, the Opera House and Republic Square.
•   We will then accompany you to visit the History museum.
•   Overnight in Yerevan

 

 Day 3 Yerevan-Khor Virap- Areni village-Noravank-Yerevan
  /breakfast & lunch included/
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel
 
  •    We will drive to Ararat Region, to visit Khor Virap Monastery. If you want to see Mt. Ararat at its best, we will highly recommend you to visit Khor Virap. It was a royal dungeon in Artashat (Artaxata), the ancient capital of Armenia, located just in front of the biblical mountain.
•    We will then drive to the Vayots Dzor Region to visit a Winery (and taste wine) in Areni Village.
•    We will then visit the architectural complex of Noravank (13-14th centuries)
•    At the end of the tour, we will transfer you back to hotel. 
•    Overnight in Yerevan.

 

 Day 4 Yerevan–Saghmosavank-Alphabet park monument-Amberd-Ashtarak

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel We will visit  Saghmosavank,  a 13th-century Armenian monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavan in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia.
 
  •   Alphabet Park-Armenian Alphabet Monument is located in the village of Artashavan, at the east side bottom of Mt. Aragats. It was erected in 2005 to celebrate the 1600 anniversary of the creation of the Armenian alphabet by the design of the famous Armenian architect Jim Torosyan. The monument is an interesting demonstration of the stone carvings of 39 Armenian letters. The Armenian alphabet has been used to write the Armenian language since the year 405 or 406 and is still used today
•    We will then proceed to Amberd Fortress- the castle ruins of Amberd comprise an area of 1500 sq. meters. Currently in a ruined state, Amberd Fortress Castle - meaning a “fortress of clouds” - was one of primary military-defensive points of the Armenian Kingdom. The complex of Amberd Fortress Castle includes the defensive walls, the castle, bath and the church. The construction of the fortress lasted several centuries. It is surrounded and protected by the gorge on three sides, and only the northern side remains unprotected. According to some sources, parts of the castle were built in the 7th century. It used to serve as the summer residence for Armenian Kings and Princes.
•   We will continue with the visit of P.Proshyan house-museum at Ashtarak City, and we will enjoy lunch followed by a national show before heading back to Yerevan. Return to hotel. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

 Day 5 Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel
 
 

•    We will drive to Garni village to visit the Garni Pagan Temple (3rd century B.C. - 1st c. A.D.), Located 28 kilometers away from Yerevan, in the province of Kotayk, the complex includes a fortress, a palace and a pagan temple. On this triangular plateau, plunging from a height of 300 meters to the rushing River Azat, stand the ruins of a powerful fortress with huge basalt slabs designed for defense of the royal summer residence of Armenia. 
•    We will then visit Geghard Monastery.The cave monastery of Ayrivank or Geghard. 6 kilometers from Garni, dates back to the 4th century. Subsequently destroyed, it was rebuilt in the 12th century. The main Cathedral of the Virgin Mary was erected in 1215. The spear that pierced Christ's body is believed to have been kept here. That is why the monastery was named Geghard ('Spear' translated from Armenian). It is a unique complex of churches carved into the mountain and linked to each other by a series of tunnels and caves. On the way out of Geghard you can participate to the Armenian bread-called lavash- making process & taste lavash just out of oven.

At the end of the tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Yerevan. The rest of the day is leisure, enjoy Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

 Day 6 Yerevan-Sevan-Dilijan
  /Breakfast & lunch included /
After breakfast and check out from the hotel, we will pick you up
 
  •    We will accompany you to visit Lake Sevan and Sevan Monastery on the peninsula. 
•    We will then drive to Dilijan, a small paradise in Armenia with its charming nature and extraordinary architecture.
•    We will visit Sharambeyan Street in Dilijan, a well preserved "Old Town " complete with craftsmen's workshops, small shops with traditional Armenian products and crafts, a museum showing a typical 19th century home with all its locally made furnishings, guest house and a Tufenkian Restaurant.
•    We will then arrive at Parz Lake, one of Dilijan’s most attractive natural sites. It is situated in the northern part of the town at a height of 1400 meters above the sea level. Water in the lake is transparent, a little greenish. The forest is close to the shoreline and the massive trees, leaning to the lake, reflects on the hyaline. While Parz lich is a small lake, it has much to offer to each of its visitors: boats, crafts, fishing etc.
•    Enjoy fish lunch by the lake.
•    Check in at the hotel and Overnight in Dilijan

 

 Day 7 Dilijan-Sanahin-Haghpat-Tbilisi
  /Breakfast & lunch included/
After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel at 09.00AM.
 
  •    We will drive to Alaverdi and visit Haghpat and Sanahin Monasteries. They are in the Northern Province of Lori, in a wooded area near the city of Alaverdi (178 km from Yerevan), reach of famous medieval monasteries. The 10th century Sanahin Monastery with its ancestral sepulcher, university, library and scriptorium was the administrative and religious center of the Kingdom of Kyurikians. The complex includes the churches of St. Astvatsatsin, Amenaperkich and St. Gregory. 
•    We will  pass the border of Armenia, and continue our trip in Georgia.
•    In Tbilisi, meeting with the Georgian representative & transfer to the hotel.
•    Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

 Day 8 Tbilisi-Bodbe-Sighnaghi-Velistsikhe-Tbilisi
  After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel
 
  •    We will drive from Tbilisi to the Kakheti region;
•    Visit Bodbe Monastery.
•    Transfer from Bodbe to Sighnaghi; 
•    Visit Wine Cellar “Peasant’s Tears” and have Wine Degustation. The host of the place will inform you about his products; 
•    Sightseeing city of love and enjoy the sights of Alazani Valley. 
•    Transfer from Sighnaghi to Village Velistsikhe; visit “Nunu’s Farm house”.where you can take Master Classes and make Georgian traditional dishes (khinkhali; churchkhela; khachapuri);
•    After dinner at Nunu’s Farm house, return to the hotel in Tbilisi
•    Overnight in  Tbilisi

 

 Day 9 Tbilisi-Batumi
  After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel
Transfer from Tbilisi to Batumi (lunch on the way)
 
  •     Check in-in Batumi hotel
•     Sightseeing Batumi city- Piazza, St. Nikoloz church, Statue of Medea, Batumi Sea Port, Alphabetic tower, Moving sculpture of Ali and Nino  
•    Dinner at restaurant “AJaruli saxli”, Degustation Ajarian dishes
•     Return at hotel.
•    Overnight Batumi

 

 Day 10 Batumi-Gobroneti
  After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel
 
  •    Departure to Gobroneti, (700 m from the sea) in Mountainous Adjara (55 km from Batumi);  Meeting with the host of the Guesthouse “ZEBO”
•     Possibility to have a hiking tour, guided by the host of the guesthouse. In the wood of Qeda,  you will enjoy the wild nature and the amazing views of Ajara, waterfalls. The hike lenghth is approximately 12 km 
•     In the evening you will have a pleasant dinner in the guesthouse, you can learn how to make Georgian traditional dishes and you can make a degustation of the  Ajarian cuisine .While in the guesthouse, you can also have master classes of Tobacco wrapping. 
•    Overnight in the guesthouse “ZEBO” in Gobroneti

 

 Day 11 Gobroneti-Tskhaltubo
  After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel
 
  •    Departure to Tskhaltubo ( 2 hours)
•    Visit Prometheus cave accompanied to a local guide; Boat trip (if the water level in the cave allows it)  Lunch at restaurant “Zgapari”
•    After lunch drive to Tbilisi
•    Check in - in Tbilisi Hotel
•    Dinner at hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi

 

 Day 12 Tbilisi city tour
  After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel
 
  •    Sightseeing Old Part of Tbilisi: Metekhi church and the statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali - the powerful king of the 5th century who founded the capital of Georgia. Sulfur bath-houses renowned for centuries for their healing quality;Visit the oldest synagogue; then walk from the Synagogue to Sioni Cathedral (6th -7 th centuries) and Anchiskhati Church (6th century). 
•    Drive up to Mother Georgia statue by cable way and then walk down along the famous Narikala Route to Narikala Fortress (4th century) – one of the oldest fortifications in the city. En-route we enjoy views of Old Town; visit Bridge of Peace.
•    Free time - shopping (opportunity of buying Georgian souvenirs) 
•    At 20:00 dinner at restaurant “Bermukha”– degustation Georgian traditional food and wine. 
•    Attend  the show of Georgian folk dance and music. Overnight Tbilisi.

 

 Day 13 Tbilisi-Ananuri-Stefantsminda
  •    After Breakfast  departure to Ananuri (1 hour driving)
•    Visit Ananuri castle and Church.
•    Transfer from Ananuri to Stefantsminda (1 hour and 20 minutes). On the way, sightseeing Acidic Water and enjoy the scenery of Gudauri  Lunch
•    Walk to Visit Gergety Trinity ( approximately 6.5 km) - if you want you can cover this distance using local people’s means of transport
•    Dinner at restaurant near Stefantsminda
•    Transfer from Stefantsminda to Tbilsi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

 Day 14 Tbilisi-Yerevan
  Early in the morning, transfer to the Georgian-Armenian border and then drive to Yerevan.
 
  Overnight inYerevan.

 

 Day 15 Yerevan
  /breakfast included/
 
  Check out with your luggage & transfer to Zvartnots International Airport.
